It has always been a big dream of mine to see New York, the actual city of dreams, during the holiday season. I’ve been to New York a lot – click here to see what I did during September fashion week – but never during Christmas, so this past holiday season I decided that now’s the time and just went! It was definitely a dream to see the Rockefeller Plaza skating rink, the lights show that Saks Fifth Avenue does on the side of their building, and just the whole city in general since NYC gets so festive.
The weather wasn’t bad until about day 3 or 4 of my trip when it got freezing – luckily the first big snowstorm of the season there came the day after I left, so I was able to get away with wearing light jackets and trendier coats rather than real heavy duty winter gear!
I met up with some friends while there and we took pictures all around the city, from the Brooklyn Bridge to Top of the Rock (my current favorite observation deck in the world) to Central Park. If you’ve been to New York you can definitely understand why they call it the city of dreams, and if you haven’t you 100% have to go. I would say NYC is easily one of my top three favorite cities in the world!
This time I was only around for about 6 days so it was a shorter trip but I still managed to get to most of my favorite restaurants and places to hang out, etc, while still enjoying as much outdoors time as possible while the city was so festive and beautiful.
