Prevent Dry Winter Skin

Although I live in LA where we don’t really have much of a “winter” season, I do travel to winter climates and will be heading back to NYC soon for fashion week, where the freezing air will no doubt have my skin dry and in desperate need of some TLC as soon as I get there! There are also days here in southern California when the air is so hot and dry, your skin starts to look and feel the same as it would if it were actually freezing cold. So today I wanted to talk about how to prevent dry winter skin because honestly having cracked skin is one of the worst feelings I can think of, who agrees?

One of my favorite brands of the past year now is Kopari Beauty! All of their products are cruelty free, many of them are vegan (all of the ones in this post are of course vegan), and they’re made from the most high quality coconut oil and natural ingredients on the market. I talked about them a little bit in a vegan beauty haul post I did last year, and I used to think I should just buy coconut oil from the grocery store and use it to moisturize my skin, but when I started using Kopari I realized there’s actually a big difference between food grade coconut oil and the coconut oil that Kopari uses in their products which is specifically intended for use on your skin. Every product I’ve used from their line has the most luxurious feel to it, and one of my favorite things about Kopari – besides the fact that they’re cruelty free – is that their products melt into your skin rather than taking forever to soak in and making your skin oily and greasy!

Coconut Melt: This was the first Kopari product I ever tried and what made me fall in love with their products. As mentioned above, it moisturizes without leaving your skin way too greasy. It’s one of those products where you don’t have to wait all day for it to soak in and do its thing – you can pretty much apply it to your legs and arms and then get dressed and get on with your day right away! It makes your skin feel soft and moisturized for hours, like a high quality moisturizer is supposed to do. Get it here!

Coconut Face Cream: This face moisturizer is seriously one of my favorites I’ve ever tried. It’s so light that you forget you even put it on and it dries quickly so I love using it before I apply my makeup in the morning. This is one of the first things to use if you’re trying to prevent dry winter skin. Get it here!

Lip Love: I’m someone who needs to keep product on my lips at all times because my skin type is dry to begin with, meaning I’m also susceptible to dry and chapped lips. With Lip Love, I can apply it once and not have to think about reapplying for hours after. The theme with Kopari products that you’ll notice me talking about is that they’re very long lasting, which also means that once you buy a product it’ll last a long time and you’ll really get your money’s worth out of it. You can get Kopari Lip Love by clicking here.

Coconut Cleansing Oil: I’ve tried removing my makeup with regular food grade coconut oil and the difference between that and using this is night and day. This product almost has properties of a micellar cleanser where it will basically grab all the makeup remnants and remove them from your face without leaving a layer of oily buildup after. Shop it here!

Coconut Rose Toner: This stuff is seriously so refreshing. It comes in a spray bottle so if you’re like me and hate applying toner because it takes forever and you have to use a cotton ball, you’ll love this since you get to skip all of that. It smells amazing and I find that it really reduces the look of pores and even blemishes! Get it by clicking here!
