Last week I met up with one of my friends who was in LA visiting from San Jose, and we got lunch and walked around Abbot Kinney in Venice on a beautiful sunny day. We went for lunch at The Butcher’s Daughter which is actually one of my favorite restaurants in both LA and New York – it’s an all vegetarian restaurant with tons of vegan options and it’s one of those places where everything you try is delicious! We also ended up taking tons of pictures in front of the Abbot Kinney murals which was so fun because Abbot Kinney is legitimately one of my favorite streets in LA. If you’ve never been, Venice is very anti establishment and so there are no chain stores on Abbot Kinney – only super creative local businesses and cafes. It’s also a really colorful street so it goes perfectly with the theme of my blog, another reason why I love shopping and hanging out there haha.
Usually the tourists only make their way to the boardwalk in Venice, so you kind of have to be in the know to be on Abbot Kinney or in an area like the Venice canals. This is yet another reason why Abbot Kinney is so cool, because it’s made up almost entirely of LA locals and we’re all there to support awesome restaurants and boutique stores. Overall a really nice way to spend a Saturday or Sunday in LA and take some fun pictures too!
Check out my pictures below and let me know what you think of the Abbot Kinney murals on this bright block in Venice!
