Best of 2016: Highlights & Photo Diary

2016 is over in two days and for me, it’s been an amazing year. I’ve always loved traveling but this year, I travelled more than I ever have before. From going back and forth between Canada and the US pretty extensively – Vancouver several times because I have lots of friends and family there as well as my hometown in central Canada a few times – to multiple trips to Las Vegas for work, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Seattle, etc. I also went to France, Spain, England, and Belgium which was a pretty amazing experience! I attended my first real fashion show, I started working out a lot more, and after eleven years of being vegetarian, I finally went fully vegan (comprehensive post on this will be up in the new year).

For this post I put together about 60 of some of my favorite pictures from 2016. Enjoy these 2016 highlights and I want to see yours too!

The first one was taken at my favorite rooftop pool in LA which is really under-rated, the Standard Hotel Rooftop:

The Stahl House in the Hollywood Hills:

Cotton candy skies in my neighborhood:

Vegas in April:

A cupcake from my all time favorite bakery which is Erin McKenna’s on Larchmont:

Sunset on Sunset, literally. I took this from the Hills Penthouse on Sunset looking south:

The Broad Museum paying tribute to the city of dreams:

Went to see the Rain Room at LACMA! You walk through the rain and sensors stop you from getting wet! Highly recommend seeing it.

Harry Potter world at Universal!

Honeydukes had a few vegan options!

I found my personal heaven at the Hillcrest Whole Foods location in San Diego:

Day trip to Catalina Island:

Vancouver skyline right before our seaplane trip to the Sunshine Coast:

Seaplane trip over a beautiful part of BC:

Laduree’s store in Vancouver:

Grand-Place in Brussels, Belgium:

The flagship Laduree store on Champs-Élysées in Paris! I don’t eat Laduree macarons since they contain egg and dairy, but I love their teas and jams! And the way their stores are set up is amazing. I’ve been to Laduree stores in Vancouver, Paris, Brussels, London, and recently the new one we got in LA at the Grove and they are so decadent and fancy! The Paris location is the nicest restaurant I’ve ever seen, except I didn’t get good pictures inside because it was dark so here’s one of the outside:

Art in the La Defense district in Paris:

Arc de Triomphe:

The Louvre. No picture could do this place justice. It’s literally almost 800 THOUSAND square feet. It’s the biggest museum in the world and it wraps around more than a few blocks:

Paris City Hall:

Had to take this picture at the Louvre haha:

Inside the Louvre:

River Seine:

Public building in Marseilles, France:

View from our hotel room balcony in Marseilles:

View from Notre Dame Cathedral in Marseilles:

Thinking about moving to Europe:

A vegan coffee and pastry shop in Paris:

Parisian alley:

Fulham Palace in London:

Golden Gate:

The Full House Painted Ladies in SF:

Love San Fran’s colorful buildings!

My friend and I at the Palazzo in Vegas last week:
